Step into Africa Thank You Cards

Our church (First Congregational Church of Hopkinton) is hosting an event put on by World Vision called Step into Africa.  This is an exhibit that sets up a mock African Village with audio and visual effects in each hut that showcase 3 different African childen and tells the story of how AIDS impacts their lives.  World Vision says our church can expect between 2500 - 5000 people to walk through the exhibit.  It is a powerful way to convey to people what the AID's crisis in Africa means to the world.
As you can image, an event this big requires a lot of volunteers and coordinators to pull it off.  I designed some thank you cards that our church staff can use to acknowledge and appreciate the extra efforts of individuals in making this happen.  I made 50 cards (assorted from the above designs.) I tried very hard to make the cards unique, follow the color pattern of the exhibit and also somehow incorporate African themes with children.

The exhibit will be on display from April 11th-April 18th in the Boston MA area.  If you live in the New England area and are interested in viewing the exhibit, go to http://www.worldvisionexperience.org/ and get details or send me an e-mail directly and I'll give you the details.  For those outside New England, the exhibit will be several US cities over the next few weeks.  Again, check out the world vision site to get locations.

Not able to visit the exhibit, but still want to be someone who makes a difference in the life of a child in Africa?  Go to world vision   and make a one time donation or sign up to sponsor a child.  Currently our family sponsors 3 world vision children - 2 in Africa and 1 in Haiti.  We plan to get one or two additional children after we go through the exhibit.  I can't change the whole world, but for $35.00 a month, I can change the life of one child in the world.

Recipe for the cards:
Card Stock:  Whisper White, PTI white, Crushed Curry, Dusty Durango, Basic Black, African theme patterned paper, vellum
Stamps:  Amuse baby boy, Amuse baby girl, Long grass, You make a difference
Ink:  Momento Black, Chocolate Chip,
Accessories:  CC and DD ribbon, linen thread, hodgepodge hardware, brass grommets, modern label punch
