Happy Saturday. It is absolutely beautiful here in New England today. We get a handful of 'perfect' days every summer and today is one of them. Warm, but not hot, moist but not humid, sunny but with a few clouds and a gentle breeze. Ahhhhh.
Today is also Papertrey Ink's annual event 'Stamp-A-Faire.'
It's an on-line event with technique videos challenges and chat sessions.
I am enjoying the beautiful weather and will play along with the challenges bit by bit. Many people are taking the whole day to craft, but not me. I'm actually heading off in a minute to go (on my bike) to 'Look out point.' I took a class at church where we were challenged to take half a day and get by ourselves to reflect on a bible verse (Colosisans 3:1-17) and take time to listen to God. Today is my day to do that. So now that I've gone for my run, been to my yoga class, had a bowl of Tom Yam Soup and made my first Stamp-A-Faire card I'm off to go have a quiet time.
So here is the first card I made for stamp-a-faire.
My card (above) is a little busy. I like Nichole's version (below) better, but I don't have the stamp set 'Natural Beauties' yet. I ordered today and will get this set free with my order, but I didn't have it for the challenge and used my Botanical Gardens set to make this floral background. The colors are fabulous though and I love the concept/sketch.
So before I go, are you curious to know which scripture verse I will be meditating on today? I have listed it below:
'Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Chris is seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.
Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. Because of these, the wrath of God is coming. You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived. But now you must rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices. You have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator. Here there is no Greek or Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave or free, but Christ is all, and is in all.
Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.
Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in your richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. '
Have a great day. Stop by again. I'm sure I'll have lots more posts this evening when I start playing with the PTI challenges.
